Plantaion owner speech

Allow me introduce myself, I am a plantation owner. I represent slave owners through out the south. My life as a plantation owner is not easy, my life and dedication has revolved around slaves, so I depend on my slaves doing my labor. Let me tell you how i have struggled. As a plantation owner i have struggled by having protests and boycotts from the workers from the poor farmers, the unemployed, and the workers from towns and cities. Another struggle in my life as a plantation owner, is that workers have rebelled against the government and the large property owners. This has led slaves talking about equality. Therefore they will take want to take my private property. This has also meant that slaves may be able to also make laws that have trade ships, because we export wood and tar for building ships. This let’s us trade locally for deer skins. Also if it wasn’t for me and my fellow slave owners, we wouldn’t make profits on crops that we have grown and have depended on such as tobacco, rice, and indigo which makes blue dye.

I agree with ⅗ compromise it would give me more power because each slave would count as ⅗ of a vote. I would not want to end the slave trade because slaves dont deserve rights like us plantation owners. I would be in favor in the Fugitive slave clause because if any of my slave ran away, they will return to me.

   

From my perspective woman, free and enslaved African Americans and Native American should not have the right to vote. Only plantation owners can have the right to vote. Like me I am plantation owner and I have the right to vote. My Opinion as a plantation is that others shouldn’t have the right to vote because they weren’t created the same as us. Woman didn’t have the right to vote either also they didn’t have the right to own land. Woman should not have the right to vote because they  do not own slaves like us . People like me that own the plantation owner have the right to vote because we are in a most highly position to vote.  Woman and African American and Native American she should be slaves for life because they were not created  the same as us. And plus they don’t even own slaves they should be slaves all their life.     

In Conclusion slavery should continue because if it stop i wouldn’t own any slaves and would be wealthy. Freedom to me means that only plantation owners should have the right to vote. Slaves and women shouldn’t have the right to vote because they aren’t suppose to have any rights as us. So this is why we disagree that slavery should end.
